Gratitude to
I humbly practice on the unceded land of Kalapuya, Atfalati, Cowlitz, Cayuse, Umatilla, Walla Walla, the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde and the Confederated Tribes of Siletz, currently called Multnomah Village in Portland Oregon.
I am able to offer my services because of the consistent insight and web of support I receive from the land, the community, and the ancestors who once resided here. I acknowledge the blood and bones upon which my structures are built. I acknowledge that I am not starting from scratch, but that I stand on the backs of those who stood before me. With responsibility and gratitude, I commit to upholding myself with a humble heart and act in accordance with reciprocity.
I am also grateful to you, my teachers, who enter my office vulnerable and honest, those whom I have the honor of sitting witness with in practice. May we continue learning together and imagining a new way into being.

When I started working with Ashlie in 2018 I had strict goals and expectations for what I wanted my body to achieve. While battling amenorrhea and chronic tendon pain, Ashlie gently guided me in an exploration that centered my body with a voice of its own, and helped me embrace the healing journey itself rather than prescriptive end goals. I no longer suffer from chronic pain, and have reunited with my cycle, but I’ve also learned so much about how to nurture and trust the wisdom of my body. With Ashlie I’ve learned the grace and freedom of journeying as a whole being, to embrace healing in all its complexities and multiple forms.
I don't know if words can ever capture what it's like to work with Ashlie, or how life-affirming it can be. From the moment I first sat with her, I knew that I was working with someone who really saw and heard me, and who understood that medicine can take many forms. She has helped me through a number of challenges, providing guidance around what supplements to take or treatments to use, but also holding space and using her gifts of listening and energy healing to really help me thrive—somehow she's able to weave magic into the Western medicine model.
While she recently moved her practice from just down the street from my house to all the way across town, I can't imagine any distance great enough to keep me from seeing her! Anyone who is lucky enough to do so will know deeply that they are cared for, and will be able to relax in being fully supported.
When I first met Ashlie, I had been dealing with a range of complex physical and mental health issues for years. I had seen many doctors, taken many tests, been in and out of ER's, naturopathic clinics and everything in between. I was feeling overwhelmed, defeated, and at a tipping point at only 23. Working with Ashlie transformed that for me. She listened to my deluge of symptoms and questions. She held space for my emotions and skillfully came up with an action plan that was both methodic and malleable; one that, for the first time in years, I felt I had agency over and yet was also truly collaborative. Ashlie is remarkable. She is a wealth of knowledge and moves with deep integrity and honesty in her work. She has the unique ability to hold many different moving parts and address each client's needs with attentiveness, curiosity and trust. I have never felt so seen in a care setting before. If you are seeking a provider to help empower and equip you with the confidence and know-how necessary for your own healing, you are in the best of hands.
Dr. Hempstead treats me like a complex individual to be understood and not a formulaic equation to be solved. She always holds a judgement free space for me to be seen and heard, and never doubts my experience of my own illness. Her approaches to treatment have been as varied and fluid as the obstacles I’ve faced, and I’m immensely grateful to have her as a powerful ally in my commitment to wellness.
I cannot say enough good things about Ashlie Hempstead. First, she is a beautiful human being. She always cares about how I am doing physically and emotionally. She always takes the time to listen, which is so rare with doctors these days. She has done a great job at getting my pain to a level that is manageable. Ashlie will do whatever she can to help you achieve better health.
In total compassion, Dr. Hempstead honors my journey by truly hearing my experiences. Her authentic listening is its own healing force. Combined with her profound knowledge of naturopathy and traditional medicines, healing sessions always resonate deeply with my own healing resources, bringing great support to my wellness and personal growth.
Ashlie is the real deal. If you are looking for a true healer, not just a naturopath, Ashlie is the one. I was constantly surprised by Ashlie's depth of knowledge and how she weaves together many disciplines and healing traditions to help you understand what's happening in your body. Her kind, warm, and gentle demeanor puts you immediately at ease, and she is adept at holding space and getting to the root of your imbalances. She is able to understand the mind, body, and spirit connection, and is highly intuitive in sensing where your body needs attention in her bodywork sessions with you. I can't recommend Ashlie enough!
Working with Ashlie for the past few months has been a beautiful journey of self discovery. She encourages my healing journey with kindness, patience, and love. Ashlie has a beautiful way of creating an empowering and gently nourishing space where I’ve been able to meet my strength and grow into who I am and how I want to move through the world. Thank you for your love and support Ashlie. I am looking forward to continuing my work in the space you’ve worked so thoughtfully to create.
What I appreciate about Dr. Hempstead is that I am not a set of symptoms in her care. She truly sees me holistically as a person, and is able to meet me where I am. These are traits that are held up as something to aspire to, and are given lip service in many spaces. But I know Dr. Hempstead to embody them as a practitioner, as a facilitator of healing, and as someone who partners with me in my treatment plans. She listens actively, is deeply present to my process, and constructs treatment plans that are personalized specifically for me, while being both attainable and sustainable.
